Restaurant Lan Je s famous for it's delicious steamed tilapia fish, has now expanded to many parts of Klang Valley (Balakong, Kota Damansara, Puchong, USJ Subang, etc). It started from Rawang branch and now, the most recent one opening up is in Kota Kemuning. Their famous steamed tilapia averagely cost RM16 per fish and is extremely moist and fresh. It is common to see every customer ordering one fish per person sharing the side dishes shared with everyone (such as tofu, vegetables, eggs etc). The fish is steamed in a thick layer of sauce made from fermented bean paste, chopped garlic, ginger and chilli. And the best thing is customers have the choice to choose the level of spiciness they want. I am not a fan of steamed due to the 'muddy' taste, but surprisingly the tilapia fish that Lan Je serves has no muddiness taste at all. It is definitely a restaurant worth trying.
If there's a place where I would recommend you to go for fresh water fish at an affordable price, this is definitely the place to be. Located quite far away at the deeper end of Kota Damansara, this isn't the most friendly place to access, especially with the MRT constructions that has been happening since like forever. My advice, go early, real early like 5PM to escape all the crazy jam and you can be assured that you'll have a satisfying meal at the restaurant. Besides the fish, I would always pair it with tofu, vegetable and one meat dish. So far I've only been paying RM10-15 for each person when we dine in groups.
